Still a risk that he could be claimed later however.

Agree with Wonder on Pollard as I hope they bring him in quickly as you all know how nervous I am about the Safety depth. The Giants did their best to try and hide Bomar ( as Andy stated previously) ...it is anyone's guess if he clears waivers.

The 7 receivers being kept surprised me. But remember, there is another cut to be made when Boley become eligible in Week 2.

We all discussed ad infinitum in the off season how we were probably looking at the end of Fred Robbins career. I think it is remarkable and a great testament to Robbins that he has made it back from this high risk surgery. Kudos to him and great for the Giants.Mitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02151576898703507305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126451417395202308.post-74252649684192702162009-09-06T18:35:33.495-04:002009-09-06T18:35:33.495-04:00Bob, I agree re Bomar. You would think before the draft that they would consider down the road when cut time arrives they had to pick between a player than can contribute now versus a QB project. The gamble to me is too big to place him through waivers for the PS.

Sorry to see Evans claimed but I projected his upside is too great for such a valuable position to clear waivers.

Twist of fate, Alex Smith cut by the Patriots is being looked over by the Gmen after trading Matthews to the Patriots. Just think it will come down to dollars with Smith as Darcy is in the same mold....receiving TE but weakness in blocking.Motown Bluehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16218210984515633044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126451417395202308.post-48395251630827541242009-09-06T17:34:24.150-04:002009-09-06T17:34:24.150-04:00Wonder on the Safeties who were cut:

That's a disappointment for the Giants, though they probably expected he wouldn't make it through.

LB Kenny Ingram, an undrafted free agent from Florida State, was not signed and is on his way back to Florida. But he was told he might be called back in the near future.

Still waiting to hear whether QB Rhett Bomar cleared waivers.
More to come.Mitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02151576898703507305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126451417395202308.post-45850131835174117192009-09-06T12:19:55.476-04:002009-09-06T12:19:55.476-04:00Firstly, the NYG made a point when they drafted Wo...Firstly, the NYG made a point when they drafted Woodson, that they wanted to slowly groom a QB for the future. So, now we had a much better talent than Woodson and let them both go. So much for the long term VU & long term player development.
And why the hel* do we need seven wideouts, when we have a great pass catching TE who is underutilized ? Yeah, I heard about trying to trade Moss for a safety or LB. I'm sure there are a lot of teams willing to give a great safety or LB for a wideout who barely made the team.

Oh yeah, I heard the story about hiding Bomar & the practice squad.
If we think pretty highly of him,
its a dumb risk. Young talented QB's are hard to come by, didn't we learn that yet ? There are too many smart scouts around & smart guys like Belechek who might pick off Bomar. What happens next year if Carr keeps playing well & gets a better offer ? What do we have for a backup then ?

Do we go running out into free agency like we did with CC Brown ?
That worked out real well (not exactly)Bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12473536605527134659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126451417395202308.post-37221861495190627182009-09-06T12:08:27.477-04:002009-09-06T12:08:27.477-04:00qbs are difficult to sneak, especially with the in...qbs are difficult to sneak, especially with the internet. i mean look at all our talk on this blog! i think lots of teams are starting to go the way of 2 qbs, so that might help. we'll see.xtianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18403376478677842532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126451417395202308.post-55426043700130409232009-09-06T10:07:12.050-04:002009-09-06T10:07:12.050-04:00Chris, the amount of poker that is played in the N...Chris, the amount of poker that is played in the NFL would not surprise the cynical and streetwise among us. Why did the Giants not even PLAY Bomar in G2 and G3 of preseason?
