The only flaw for a "home town fan" is that he may have his HDTV but will not be able to watch his favorite team if the local channel is blacked out.

btw...

Andy is correct...I too have my HDTV....I'm close to the kitchen, close to the bathroom so I can pause "live tv" if needed...it is as good as it gets.Mitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02151576898703507305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126451417395202308.post-5953358382768480742009-01-04T09:54:00.001-05:002009-01-04T09:54:00.001-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Motown Bluehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16218210984515633044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126451417395202308.post-92071712762133988532009-01-04T09:54:00.000-05:002009-01-04T09:54:00.000-05:00Schwartz's article in the post today hits on a num...Schwartz's article in the post today hits on a number of points brought up in this blogoshpere. The pass rush with Tuck having only 3 1/2 in last 8 games and Kiwi with 1 1/2. He neglected to point out the significance of Robbins. The kickoff team, " a recipe for failure in the playoffs" and wants to activate Tynes. I read somewhere that in the past 3 years that the opponents average field position for Tynes is worst than Carney. Another good point is that they earned "69 trips inside the opponents' 20 yard line good was tops for the league" but were 20th in the league with a 50.7 percent for frequency of TDs. Again, poor usage of personnel by Gilbrown we've seen how effective Boss is on the red zone and what about #44. Finally he mentions creating turnovers of which I think has a lot to do with the lack of pass rush.:

http://www.nypost.com/seven/01042009/sports/giants/giants_must_fix_these_problem_areas_147155.htm

Mitch, this is a sign of the economy and things to come for the NFL. Why in the name of hell ...You beat me to it, Mitch. Why in the name of hell would anybody anywhere want to listen to anything Matt Millen has to say about football? Maybe he has a secret file on Bob Costas (kind of like the one he seemed to have on Lions ownership.) What a goddamn joke.

Two good games. The Chargers made it extremely hard on themselves, but they deserved to win. Bad clock management by both teams at the end, though, and Rivers wasting a down on a spike was attrocious (they had planty of time). The Chargers played for the tie, plain and simple. Fortunately for the Chargers the player from Colts called "heads."

Gotta give the Cards credit. And that 3rd and 16 conversion at the end! Oh my God, a team went for the win instead of just running a lame draw and giving the ball back to the other team! They deserve to win for that alone.

I'm down with the two home teams again. Although I think the two home teams today with have it tougher than the ones yesterday. I particularly don't think the Vikes are the dead ducks everyone assumes they are.James Allenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03964207789326645793noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126451417395202308.post-91906665642148173602009-01-04T09:26:00.000-05:002009-01-04T09:26:00.000-05:00Yes, they blow.Yes, they blow.Andy F.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07020742034297033233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126451417395202308.post-63441317946891784732009-01-04T01:25:00.000-05:002009-01-04T01:25:00.000-05:00Welcome to the NFL. I agree Andy they will probably lose next weekend but it was a nice appetizer nonetheless.

a couple of thoughts...

What the Brown is NBC thinking? They don't have enough guys in the studio and now they add Matt Millen. Are you kidding me? What kind of insight is he supposed to offer? When he makes his picks...is everyone else supposed to go the other way? Is he going to give analysis on coaching and personnel? What a joke...

When the snow hits the ground, LaDainian Tomlinson (I refuse to call him as LT)...is always injured.

I think Tony Dungy has already retired. Tonight he used the same clock management coaching techniques as Herman Edwards.

Why does Ron Winter's crew get to ref a NFL playoff game? This crew must buy new whistles for every game because they like to hear themselves blow them.Mitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02151576898703507305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126451417395202308.post-23334343256001054602009-01-04T00:14:00.000-05:002009-01-04T00:14:00.000-05:00None of the 4 teams we saw today were particularly...None of the 4 teams we saw today were particularly good. As of right now Minnesota still has 2400 tickets that have not been sold and Arizona just made it under the wire yesterday. I hope some business or benevolent organization will buy the tix in Minny and then donate it to some needy kids. What a disgrace! Shame on Minny & Arizona!!!!!!Mitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02151576898703507305noreply@blogger.com
