NYG-WASH intragame commentary, note Bradshaw and Robbins out

GIANTS-inactive
K Lawrence Tynes
WR Plaxico Burress
CB Sam Madison
RB Ahmad Bradshaw
LB Jonathan Goff
T Adam Koets
DE Jerome McDougle
DT Fred Robbins

Hixon is gimpy, he is certainly going to be an integral part of this game. Moss and Manningham better be ready, they will see playing time too. Surprised McDougle was deactivated when Robbins was unable to go. That early Bradshaw injury vs Ariz was more significant than we thought, hope is it precautionary. Ware/Droughns could see some action depending on how healthy Jacobs is. Ward can handle most of the load, as was done last week. Marvelous: "If we win today w/o all of these players, with Hixon less than 100%, my hat's off to the Giants, it would be a tremendous win."

  1. Not having Robbins in there against a very good rushing offense will really hurt. Hopefully Bradshaw's injury is just a minor type thing and he'll be back next week.

Jacobs better be healthy--with the crappy weather we'll be leaning on Jacobs/Ward alot today.

With Hixon a bit gimpy and of course no Plax (prob for the rest of the year), it means Moss and Manningham will have their chance to step up and really help this team. I hope they can do it.

I hope I'm wrong but I dont feel very good about this game at all.....

  2. McDougle has been hurt as well...I believe that is why he is also inactive. I agree with Mike. This might be our toughest challange yet.

  3. RRPK, how predictable, that was a gift by the skins, thank you very much

    ReplyDelete
  4. hixon can be a very cheap #1 the rest of this year and next

    ReplyDelete
  5. whats up with the pitches? pound the ball some

    ReplyDelete
  6. they have 8 men in the box almost every play, and Manning torched them! TD!

    ReplyDelete
  7. the special teams are becoming a BIG problem

    ReplyDelete
  8. Phillips is a hoover vacuum cleaner on making tackles in front of him

    ReplyDelete
  9. if they keep 8 in eli will call his own plays all day YEAH

    ReplyDelete
  10. field is horrible Jacobs is pussyfooting

    ReplyDelete
  11. O'Hara is a big loss if serious, hopefully minor, agree w all Nature

    ReplyDelete
  12. i dont know if #27 can run in this weather

    ReplyDelete
  13. good drive, i think we shuld give WARD a go see if he can get going on this bad surface

    ReplyDelete
  14. Manning is gtg the time. 8 men in box, only thing that stopped that drive was a some good coverage when the skins dropped back in red zone.

    ReplyDelete
  15. holy crap, we gotta get a kickoff going be fore it kills us

    ReplyDelete
  16. that was the best news of the day, O'Hara knee sprain, will return

    ReplyDelete
  17. great D in the first quarter...if D plays like this for 60 mins offense will only need 20-24 points

    ReplyDelete
  18. anyone can tell me why im so nervous still?

    ReplyDelete
  19. to go up 17 right now would be an almost KILLER

    ReplyDelete
  20. Gilbride empty backfield on 1st and 10, what a call that was! Gilbride has been mixing it up, he needs to keep passing the ball against this 8 men in box look. here, they go to ward LINED up at the line instead, very smart

    ReplyDelete
  21. pick your poison, smith for 10 after ward for 48 yards pass... keep loading the run and we beat u w pass

    ReplyDelete
  22. LOL D. WARD runs like he has a pocket full of change

    ReplyDelete
  23. Manning in complete control, he calls TO because he does not have enuf time to get into right play... this is why we are 10-1, because Manning is IN CONTROL

    ReplyDelete
  24. Gilbride has to come up with another redzone IDEA....we playing good from 20 to 20 gotta punch it in, FG's only keep a team in it...i wonder how long before MOOSE slurps the Cowgirls

    ReplyDelete
  25. we are putting teams at the 50 all day...we are asking alot from our D...

    ReplyDelete
  26. spags has them in a 3 man rush on screen pass on 3rd and 13, perfect defense, and the giants defense gives up 17, first boner of the game

    ReplyDelete
  27. we can only give up 3...or the all the first half dominance goes away

    ReplyDelete
  28. it started with the free field position..then the penalty to keep the drive alive...i say it every week...WE ARE THE BEST AT KEEPING THE OPPONENT IN THE GAME !!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. BROWN the refs, that was disgusting, that hands to the face call on Webster was horsebrown, and it cost us 7 points, that was an INT taken away from Webster. ya like Johnston:"not a lot there"... not ANYTHING THERE, it was a totally blown call and Wonder just called to chime in how HORRIBLE that call was, that the ref cost the giants 7.

    ReplyDelete
  30. jacobs had 11 yds on 7 carries because the skins are loading the run... pass is successful, pass the damn ball

    ReplyDelete
  31. we need a two min drive!

We should be up 20 right now

    ReplyDelete
  32. call it a catch and then switch it without review? do the rules change for the SUPER BOWL champs dman it

    ReplyDelete
  33. he had the first...what the f are the ref doing

    ReplyDelete
  34. we are getting a real HAPPING ENDING from the refs

    ReplyDelete
  35. he did not have the first, Nature, Ward was terrible, he cavalierly trotted out of bounds on 3rd down right near the sticks. that cost us 3 pts and could have cost us 3 more pts

    ReplyDelete
  36. Considering how I felt before this game....I'm happy were up 6 at the half, and we get the ball to start the 2nd.

We did leave some points out there though--the last 2 drives with the Eli pick (mostly Hixon's fault IMO) and the botched QB sneak/Ward's mental error are bothering me right now.

I'll feel alot better if we can get some points to start the 2nd half.

    ReplyDelete
  37. at the half, nfl.com has manning with 239 yards passing, i think it is ~220 yds, still a record for him. WHY? because the skins are playing run all game and asking Manning to beat them. that we only have 13 points is terrible, because when we get into red zone we bog down with the run, and the pass needs to be quick and fast. manning does not have anything in red zone and then gets sacked. skins are gtg into coverage fast in the red zone. that botched drive near the end of the half has to be avoided also. only thing that stopped the giants was the giants.

    ReplyDelete
  38. even howie long said it was a bad call

    ReplyDelete
  39. it depends on when the refs BLEW the whistle on the EI play...if they blow it when they SHOULD HAVE it was a first down, fox was showin a replay so i didnt see the play live, but no one cant tell me he didnt end up in front of the markers

    ReplyDelete
  40. Howie Long: "questionable call on Webster" negates the INT and one play later the reverse yields a TD.

Long and Johnston are being gentle with the NFL, who ultimately keeps their water on at home, the CALL WAS MOTHERBROWNING DISGUSTING.

    ReplyDelete
  41. we have to get atleast 3 and go up by 2 score..the Skins dont score alot of points so we need a 2 score lead

    ReplyDelete
  42. nature, eli missed, he needed 1 full yard, he got 1 or 2 FEET, forward, missed by a foot

    ReplyDelete
  43. now is the first down passing play time...they have 8-9 in the box on first

    ReplyDelete
  44. now is the first down passing play time...they have 8-9 in the box on first

    ReplyDelete
  45. lol what i say about our RB's hand....didnt cant catch passes screens and dump are easy

    ReplyDelete
  46. great great....here we go gilbride here we go

    ReplyDelete
  47. nothing quick...no big plays make em earn it D fence

    ReplyDelete
  48. that 3rd and 10 call to Ward was great call by Gilbride, sets up 1st and goal, and then TD, btw I would have challenged the spot, I thought Jacobs was in, or at the 6" line, they spotted it horribly at the 0.5 yd line, but no matter now. 20-7. very nice.

    ReplyDelete
  49. seems like they can only get BIG PLAYS on tricks

    ReplyDelete
  50. with every catch from HIXON, PLAX gets closer and closer to the door

    ReplyDelete
  51. great INT by U Texas!

GREAT PLAYCALL BY GILBRIDE on 1st and 10 form the 3, a slant to Hixon to get out of there, excellent by Gilbride, I thought they were running 100%, fooled me thoroughly, and fooled the skins too

    ReplyDelete
  52. Jcaobs second down run was a first i just rewound it and took a look...

    ReplyDelete
  53. how do they not pick that up!!!

    Browning gilbrown!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Gilbride's playcalling at times has been absolutely fantastic, mixing up play action, but look where it bogs down, 8 yard gain on Toomer PASS (naturally), and then next two u KNOW they are calling run and we get stopped. so Gilbride very good, but not outstanding.

    ReplyDelete
  55. 3 and out would be great because i think there d line is wearing down...we definately have to be hip for the trick plays now, they cant really produce yards any other way so far...still have to watch SANTANA

    ReplyDelete
  56. 3 and out was big....have to still try and pound em wear em down

    ReplyDelete
  57. if we can burn 4-5 mins off clock there are in trouble

    ReplyDelete
  58. horrible first down play call and it was all down hill

    ReplyDelete
  59. not a great spot for a 3 and out....come on D fence turnover kills the will

    ReplyDelete
  60. who is this kid clark..made a few plays today

    ReplyDelete
  61. can anyone tell me why dockery pulled his hands away? tuck for D-MVP

    ReplyDelete
  62. hey enough is enough...PEOPLE need to stop talking about distractions, i think it is OBVIOUS that the GMEN can handle all ADVERSITY, with the way we play without PLAX and other all the talk should be "What team is going to come in NJ and beat us" distraction? what distractions

    ReplyDelete
  63. anyone realizing how well the D is playing?

    ReplyDelete
  64. ANDY there is a boy BUTLER...get his address so i can send him some STICK EM

    ReplyDelete
  65. we joked about Butler, the ball bounced off him like a pinball. but no complaints, great win.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Fabulous win. This team continues to amaze me....whatever adversity gets thrown their way (tough opponents on the road, weather, injuries, off-field issues) they just shrug it off, step up and get the job done.

I thought Eli was great today. 305 yards, 62% completion pct, a TD on a great throw to Toomer...all against a good D in the pouring rain.

Running the ball was tough but we grinded it out and got some tough yards.

    And the defense was fantastic!
