one of things you miss without strahan is the concept of a pass rush while keeping pocket integrity. Cutler is carving up the Giants on second chances provided by a few steps out of the pocket.
What really worries me is that without antonio pierce, our D looks like a headless horseman. We NEED him to stay healthy. He is the most important single player on the D. Also Shaun O'Hara is so important, if he gets injured we'd be in similar trouble on O. Without these two guys... the giants look very small.
some of this will be blamed on the fact that this was a 5 day layoff and the preseason does not really allow for proper preparation with that short a cycle.
McKenzie allows a sack and then a penalty on successive possessions.
Even with the short week, this seems a little ominous, don't you think? I was definitely hoping for some connections between Manning and the new receivers.
the color commentary from Banks and Cross is accurate: Bears defense is sending more blitz pressure and the OL is not handling it, Diehl and McKenzie look rusty. Manningham looks good. There are no excuses for a poor game. Is it an excuse that lots of starters are not playing at the beginning of the game? Yes and no. It is week 2 of preseason, not a good game but not worth pressing the panic button either.

ReplyDeleteSo far, this is the end of 2008
ReplyDeleterevisited. RRPK
Keep running till 3rd & long,
attempt pass, kick.
I'm worried
that is not the worry. Inthe reg season Gilbride will not be rrpk. guys like Blackburn and LBer mediocrity worry me more. CC Brown gtg lit up too.
ReplyDeleteJust tuned in. Where's the defense??
ReplyDeletewhat is missing is pocket contain vs a mobile QB

ReplyDeletechainsaw !!

ReplyDeleteWe have no O.
ReplyDeleteHow many times a year does Kareem McKenzie make mistakes like that? Too many. He is the weakest link on that o-line by far.

we have no offensive line, which makes Jacobs' performance all the more stellar

ReplyDeleteexcuses, excuses
ReplyDeleteno passes to Boss, no passing
downfield, no O
S.O.S. same as late last season
Clark is back! Thank god... that would have been very scary.
ReplyDeleteOnly positive so far is something we already know. Brandon Jacobs is a monster who can make Brian Urlacher look like a defensive back.

ReplyDeletetollefson two nice plays, a stripped ball for turnover and the holding call to negate a TD. 10 points by tollefson or else the score could be 24-0
ReplyDeleteWho is playing DT for NYG ??
ReplyDeleteI can't get WFAN on internet, am
listening to Bears radio on net ?
Giants as a whole are just not ready to play. Missed assignments, lack of desire. No excuses! Just awful.
ReplyDeleteOnly positives I see are Jacobs, Tollefson & Manningham.
Would love to see Gerris Wilkinson step up and play...he could be useful with his speed.
Kareem McKenzie has definitely regressed.
282 yds vs 99 yds at the end of H1.
ReplyDeletebad to worse, Alford carted off.
ReplyDeletecan someone tell me who is playing
ReplyDeleteDT & DE for the NYG ?
I live in Va & am having to listen to
the game on Bears Radio....no NYG
details being given
only a sprained knee for Alford, that is about the only good thing to happen tonight
ReplyDeleteBob- everyone is playing DE and DT, it is a rotation. Tollefson, Jeremy Clark, Douzable, Alford (now out, hurt), Kiwanuka
