First the bad news, Moss has a hamstring injury. Vacchiano was concerned.
Garafolo had raves for Carr ("Awesome"), Moss ("Big practice"),
and the good news...
"Wait til camp and the preseason, when you see how fast the ball comes out of QB Rhett Bomar's hand. He flicks the ball and it's out. It's quite something. He did it again Tuesday on a great ball over the middle for an incompletion. Yes, I said incompletion because TE Darcy Johnson dropped it. But that's not the point. The point is Bomar got it out and up the seam so quickly that the LBs didn't have a chance to get their hand up. I'm really impressed with Bomar so far."
There it is, the first official "gush" about Rhett Bomar from Mike Garafolo. No, he has not done anything as a Giant, not yet at least. But let's give a little credit to Wonder, who
targeted him here at Ultimatenyg NY Giants blog on Monday April 13th.
Just do me a favor guys, if this 5th rounder ever starts for the Giants, remember where you heard his name first, 13 days before he was picked by Reese.

But the questions remains, if Bomar turns out to be another Tom Brady, will Tom C. have the guts like Bill B. did when he replaced #1 draft pick and face of the franchise Drew Bledsoe with Brady who was a 6th rounder. I say no he does not based on his past record like still having Gilbrown as the OC. Unless management forces his hand like they have done in the past to make him change I don't see it.
The best thing right now is for Bomar to be groomed. In 2009 with Carr there, there is 0.0 need to rush. 2010 is still more grooming, that is the first year they are learning less, thinking less and playing more. We'll see where he is in 2011. As was noted here in May, he has plenty of time to get his professional game together, that this can be the best blessing for the kid- coming in as a 5th rounder with the time to develop him.
As for the question of whether Bomar can be another Brady and give our HC that problem, throw me in that briar patch! Bomar has a strong arm, so it will be interesting to see what he can do in the wind of the Meadowlands. This is a nice problem to have, and the way I see it, it is not here for a few years, if indeed we are THAT fortunate. Plus, Reese is very shrewd and will not fall asleep at the wheel, so I am not concerned at all about him falling through the cracks. The only player that you can say this has happened to is Ryan Grant, but the Giants were loaded at RB and they still got a draft pick for him. What was Reese going to do? In this case, if Bomar does progress, then Carr becomes expendable in 2010. All in all, these are nice problems to have.
Agree
BTW, I think Carr was a great pickup last year for the GMEN.
Sounds like he's doing well in camp
this year.
There are times when Eli is having an off day that I think TC should just put in Carr and see what he can do. He's done well with the few chances he was given.
