Jay Glazer gives us some February Giants news

As busy as it was for me at work this week, it was equally as SLOW or even slower for Giants news. So we have two things noteworthy:

1) Jay Glazer reports that Plaxico Burress is fighting with the Giants to force them to honor their contract. Yesterday the players union filed a grievance and a few more items came to light. Whether you or any player thinks that Burress should come back in 2009, it certainly looks more doubtful when these details come to light. Could it simply be a financial manuevering ploy? Yes, and arguably for both sides. But as long as they are fighting over money he is not wearing blue.

2) It is not often (read: never) that you hear about someone from my alma mater getting attention for sports. Hey, it's February and there is no football, so if the NY Times can give it some ink, we can too.

I want Plax back. He is no T.O. He is no Ocho Stinko. He is just a little kid in a super human body. He is a fool, not a cancer. There is a big diffence between the two. To borrow one of Andy's favorate quote, 'We are not in the business of well-adjusted human beings.'

It seems the Gilbrown with be with us yet another year. that means we need more talent than it will take to win to overcome his incompetence.

I started commenting to you, Pastime, but it turned into a long rant on what we have been saying for months now. I simply detest Gilbrown, and all I see is this incompetent stealing yet more resources away from the defense. I'll stop here before it gets too repetitive.

I know what you mean Andy. You don't want the blog to just be all about the negative.
Lets look on the bright side, GB is not president anymore.

I just had a wide receiver idea. So if we can't get crabtree through the draft or sign boldin... maybe we should try to sign Dallas WR Miles Austin. He was underutilized in Dallas and he has big play ability. He is 6-3 with a big wingspan and has homerun speed and physicality. Especially with toomer being done, I feel like bringing in the 24 year old Austin would be a good call. Thoughts?

Can't say I know anything about Austin so can't really comment.

Andrew...

Miles Austin is certainly intriguing but really untested. I don't know if Dallas will re-sign him but it bears watching.

Jerry Reese, I feel has a plan this off season to address WR & LB....but at this point before the Combines it is all speculation.

As far as Plax goes...you all know my feelings on the subject. His court date is 3/31 and we don't know how that will turn out, but I think it is ominous only because Mayor Bloomberg has his agenda so I think the Giants will be preparing for next season as if Plax won't be back.

One thing about Miles Austin - he grew up down the street from Giants Stadium in Garfield, NJ. Although it might be hard for him to leave Texas. It has no state income tax. The weather is much warmer and the women dress appropriately.

Hey Princess, let's leave politics to other blogs, please?

I wonder if Jerry Reese is talking to Couglin about Gilbride's shortcomings.

It seems the only conversation about Gilbride these days is right here at ULTIMATENYG...

Miles Austin is an interesting idea.

The few times I've seen Dallas throw him the ball, he's looked great. And
he's lost on that team with all that talent

We lost power and now some voodoo has entered my computer. This is illustrated by my comments being repeated and the comment delete garbage can doohickey not being visible. Pardon me.
